Chevrolet Corvette Engine Oil Capacity

Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray was presented to the world public in mid-July 2019. The novelty has become a real revolution within this model line. She received a radically different suspension structure and platform architecture, a traditional power unit, a modern variable gearbox, an interior with an increased quality of finishing materials, as well as an aggressive design in all the canons of modern fashion.

Visually, the silhouette of the model has changed dramatically. The cage has moved 400 mm forward, the hood has been shortened, and the rear has become noticeably more massive. Despite such metamorphoses, the car retained all the family features. On the front end, pointed, elongated headlights flaunt, which have received thin sections of daytime running lights and a more modern LED filling.

The sides are now adorned with huge air intakes with plastic overlays. Brake lights can be seen aft, retaining their signature dual layout. Also striking is a small spoiler and four square exhaust pipes.

How Much Oil Does a Chevy Corvette Take?

The 2021 Chevy Corvette with the 6.2L 8-cyl engine (engine code LT2) takes 7.5 quarts (with filter) of 0W-40 synthetic oil. The Chevy Corvette with a 6.2L 8-cyl engine (engine code LT5) takes 9.8 quarts (with filter) of 0W-40 synthetic oil. A new oil filter and a crush washer are required.

As for the Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray engine, it has not been upgraded. This is a classic 6.2-liter V-shaped atmospheric eight. She received the LT2 index, a direct fuel injection system, and also only 2 valves per cylinder. To increase savings, half of the cylinders can be shut off.

A dry-sump system was installed to avoid oil starvation on steep bends with large lateral g-forces. As a result, the engineers managed to squeeze out 502 horsepower and 637 Nm of torque. As for the transmission, a whole revolution has taken place.

In the last generation, mechanical and automatic hydromechanical boxes were installed. A true preselective eight-speed robot with two clutches was developed for the eighth generation. The development was carried out by the firm Tremec, which traditionally deals with transmissions on corvettes. The drive is exclusively rear.
