SUVs are unnecessarily large, too thirsty and hopelessly overpriced with electrical components? Toyota has been providing a possible counter-argument since the beginning of 2021: the RAV4, generation five. The mid-range high-legged model takes up a lot of space, but also offers a lot of it inside. With the tested hybrid all-wheel drive, the consumption remains justifiable, only the propulsion occasionally falls by the wayside. As a plug-in hybrid, it gets more power and an electric range suitable for everyday use.

The oil changing process is pretty easy on the latest versions of Toyota RAV4 and it usually takes up about 25-35 minutes. You can even cope faster if you employ a car lift and have all the parts at hand.

It’s very convenient if you place all the instruments in a row for quick access.

How Much Oil Does a Toyota RAV4 Take?

The 2021 Toyota RAV4 with the 2.5L 4-cyl engine (engine code A25A-FKS) takes 4.8 quarts (with filter) of 0W-16 synthetic oil. A new oil filter and a crush washer are required.

What distinguishes the new Toyota RAV4 in everyday life? Its optional simplicity. You can immerse yourself in drive technology and hatch recuperation strategies. Or simply: drive. Then the RAV4 is free of surprises and comfortable. You can feel hard edges and joints, but most of it keeps the SUV away from the spinal cord. At a higher speed, it is pleasantly quiet inside. However, near the electronically drawn limit of 180 km / h, excessive drafts are registered in the area of the side windows.

The RAV4 never becomes dynamic: the sports program affects the responsiveness of the unit and the manual torque of the steering – but the steering gives little feedback. Toyota does not offer an adaptive chassis. The alternative spring-damper combination allows the body some movement around the longitudinal and transverse axis, but there is no really intense swell.
