Because of this, it is important that the engine oil viscosity be selected based on the temperatures at which the vehicle will be operated before the next oil change. Choosing an oil viscosity other than that recommended could cause serious engine damage.
INFINITI does not recommend the use of oil additives. The use of an oil additive is not necessary when the proper oil type is used and maintenance intervals are followed.
The oil that may contain foreign matter or has been previously used should not be used.

The Infiniti Q50 takes between 5.2 quarts and 7 quarts of oil depending on the engine size.

3.0 RWD: Top off to proper level as needed. Capacity is shown for vehicles with the original 25 inches (63.5 cm) dipstick. For vehicles with the 24.5 inches (62.2 cm) replacement dipstick, add an additional 0.5 quarts (0.47 liters) to the original Engine Oil Capacity.

The oil and oil filter change intervals for your engine are based on the use of the specified quality oils and filters. Oil and filter other than the specified quality, or oil and filter change intervals longer than recommended could reduce engine life. Damage to engines caused by improper maintenance or use of incorrect oil and filter quality and/or viscosity is not covered by the new INFINITI vehicle limited warranties.
Your engine was filled with high-quality engine oil when it was built. You do not have to change the oil before the first recommended change interval.
If you have an Infiniti Q50 with a 3.0L V6 turbo engine, your motor Engine Oil Capacity will be 5.1 US quarts if it’s rear-wheel drive and 5.7 US quarts if it’s all-wheel drive. When the filter is included, these are the numbers. Synthetic 0W-20 oil is required; regardless of the climate in which you reside, this will be completely ok to use.
