Mitsubishi Galant – middle-class cars manufactured by the Japanese company Mitsubishi Motors from 1969 to 2012. The name comes from the French word fr. Galant, meaning “knightly”. Nine different generations of this model have been created, with total sales currently exceeding five million machines.
The model started as a compact sedan but eventually turned into a medium-sized car. Production was originally established in Japan, but since 1994, cars assembled at a factory formerly owned by Diamond-Star Motors (DSM) in Illinois have been sold on the American market.
Despite the fact that the latest generation Galant is focused exclusively on the US market, it was sold there 2-3 times worse than its predecessor!
The last generation Galant was shown back in 2003, however, this car with a very unusual design was sold only in the US market. But it was decided not to deliver Galant to Europe for obvious reasons: in the Old World, only premium brands such as Audi, Mercedes-Benz or BMW feel good in this class. But big “budget” sedans are not needed there.
