Cadillac CTS Transmission Fluid Capacity

The type of transmission fluid the Cadillac CTS uses depends on the model year, transmission type, and engine size. Here are the most common transmission fluid types used in the Cadillac CTS:

For the 2003-2007 Cadillac CTS with a 5-speed automatic transmission, the recommended transmission fluid is Dexron III/Mercon automatic transmission fluid.

For the 2008-2013 Cadillac CTS with a 6-speed automatic transmission, the recommended transmission fluid is Dexron VI automatic transmission fluid.

For the 2014-2019 Cadillac CTS with a 6-speed manual transmission, the recommended transmission fluid is GM manual transmission fluid or equivalent.

The 2015-2019 Cadillac CTS models with a 9-speed automatic transmission require the ACDelco 10-9395 Dexron VI Automatic Transmission Fluid or equivalent.

It’s important to refer to your vehicle’s owner’s manual or consult with a certified Cadillac technician for the specific transmission fluid type and recommended maintenance schedule for your car. Using the wrong type of transmission fluid or not following the recommended maintenance schedule can cause damage to the transmission or affect its performance.

The Cadillac CTS debuted in its home market in 2016. The model is a planned third-generation restyling. The changes are barely perceptible for the inexperienced car enthusiast. The novelty has stylish elongated headlights with lenticular optics and garlands of LED daytime running lights, duplicated on the front bumper. The radiator grille is made in the corporate style, it consists of many horizontally oriented fins and flaunts the logo of the American manufacturer.

Below, on the sides of it, there are a couple of recesses taken away by a plastic grill. They give the front end a more aggressive appearance. The rear of the car is also a success. The raised bumper and two chrome exhaust pipes look amazing. In general, the car received several pleasant cosmetic changes, but at the same time, it has not lost its charm, and everything is also well recognizable on the road.

The Cadillac CTS has two engines, an eight-speed automatic transmission, and a rear or all-wheel drive. Thanks to a good list of presented units and their versatility, the car can meet most of the requests of a potential buyer.

The base engine of the Cadillac CTS is a 1998 cc in-line turbocharged petrol four. Thanks to the turbocharger, the power unit develop 240 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 400 Nm of torque in the range from 3000 to 4500 crankshaft revolutions per minute. A rear-wheel-drive sedan will accelerate to the first hundred in 6.6 seconds, and the high-speed ceiling, in turn, will be 240 kilometers per hour. Despite the high power and good dynamics, the car is relatively economical. Fuel consumption of the Cadillac CTS will be 10.8 liters per hundred kilometers at a city pace, 6.2 liters when driving on the highway, and 7.8 liters in a combined cycle.

The top engine of the Cadillac CTS is a V-shaped naturally aspirated gasoline six with a volume of 3649 cubic centimeters. Despite lacking a turbocharger, the engineers could squeeze 341 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 386 Nm of torque at 5,300 pm. With such a herd under the hood, the sedan takes off from zero to a hundred in 6.7 seconds, and the maximum speed, in turn, will be 280 kilometers per hour. With such a volume, you should not hope for efficiency. Fuel consumption of the Cadillac CTS will be 12.7 liters of gasoline per hundred in the city, 7.4 liters on the highway, and 9.4 liters in the combined cycle.
