The Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray was released to the global public in mid-July 2019. The novelty has become a real revolution within this model line. She received a radically different suspension structure and platform architecture, a traditional power unit, a modern variable gearbox, an interior with an increased quality of finishing materials, as well as an aggressive design in all the canons of modern fashion.
Visually, the silhouette of the model has changed dramatically. The cage has moved 400 mm forward, the hood has been shortened, and the rear has become noticeably more massive.

The ergonomics of the cabin, technical characteristics, configuration, available options, the appearance of the car – we will tell you about all this in detail in our test drive.
Driving a Chevrolet Corvette Z06 you will feel like a pilot of a real racing car. An innovative super-efficient powertrain with 659 l / s and a maximum torque of 881 Nm, a body made of high-strength and lightweight aluminum and the most advanced technologies provide an incredibly dynamic performance of a supercar, excellent handling and stability on the track.
As for the Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray engine, it has not been upgraded. This is a classic 6.2-liter V-shaped atmospheric eight. It received the LT2 index, a direct fuel injection system, and only 2 valves per cylinder. To increase savings, half of the cylinders can be shut off. To avoid oil starvation on steep bends with large lateral g-forces, a dry-sump system was installed. As a result, the engineers managed to squeeze out 502 horsepower and 637 Nm of torque.
As for the transmission, a whole revolution has taken place. In the last generation, mechanical and automatic hydromechanical boxes were installed. For the eighth generation, a true preselective eight-speed robot with two clutches was developed. The development was carried out by Tremec, a company that traditionally deals with transmissions on corvettes. The drive is exclusively rear.
