The BMW X6 has two types of transmissions: an automatic and a manual. The BMW Automatic Transmission can hold up to 12.7 quarts (12 liters) of transmission fluid, while the BMW Manual Transmission can hold up to 10 quarts of transmission fluid.

The BMW X6 is a high-performance midsize luxury fastback SUV that competes with the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe and Porsche Cayenne Coupe in the niche mid-size luxury fastback SUV market. The unique roofline of the BMW makes it stand out, but practicality is limited. The X6 will receive minor updates for the 2022 model year.
Minor updates are expected for the 2022 BMW X6. The most substantial modification is the removal of the rear-wheel-drive sDrive40i model, leaving just an all-wheel-drive X6 lineup. The xDrive40i is now the only non-BMW M option in the range. The M50i has a powerful V8 and more amenities but comes at a significantly higher price. The high-performance X6 M is priced at $7 999 at launch.
