The Audi Q5’s transmission is one of the most essential and sophisticated components. Although you don’t need to replace your transmission fluid very often, it should be changed every 50,000 miles or so if you intend on driving your vehicle a lot. If you’re searching for a dipstick in a newer Audi, don’t bother.
The Audi Q5 is near the company’s SUV lineup’s center, sandwiched between the smaller Q3 and larger Q7 and Q8 models. The sweet spot, not too big but not too small either.
The Q5 will be even more appealing to some consumers since it comes standard with two plug-in hybrid power choices, which may be added for an extra cost. They’re intended to persuade the most money-conscious corporate car drivers away from competing premium SUVs by providing low emissions and a decent electric range.
The Q5 is available with three petrol engines and one diesel engine, all of which are turbocharged. There’s also the traditional Q5, available in one petrol and one diesel variant. The Q5 Sportback is an SUV variant that we’ve evaluated separately; it has a coupe appearance but is essentially identical to its larger siblings on most counts (except for body style). We use the term “regular” to differentiate it from the Audi SQ5, which is a performance-oriented version of the car.

The Q5 is a far less thrilling automobile to drive on a twisting country road than the BMW X3 or Jaguar F-Pace, but it’s more relaxing to travel in for lengthy periods – especially when equipped with the optional Tour Pack, which allows the car to accelerate, brake, and steer for you on highways and traffic jams.
Sadly, this option and a few of the Audi Q5’s other party pieces are extra – but don’t let it deter you. If you’re willing to pay a bit more for a few extras, the Audi Q5 is an excellent family vehicle.
How to Change Automatic Transmission Fluid
It’s critical to utilize the proper fluid for your Audi gearbox if you want it to operate effectively and not self-destruct. Whether you have a 6-speed or an 8-speed automatic, make sure the liquid is equivalent to the G 060 162 A2 criteria, such as Ravenol 8HP.
- Step 1 – Raise the car.
- Step 2 – Check the transmission fluid.
- Step 3 – Drain transmission fluid.
- Step 4 – Fill transmission with fluid.
