The all-new Toyota RAV4 was shown to the general public on the catwalks of the New York Auto Show in March 2018. In fact, this is a full-fledged fifth generation, and not just another planned restyling. The manufacturer has really made global changes. The model has moved to a different platform, and also received a completely new interior and design. Instead of streamlined and swift forms, the car shows brutal angular lines. First of all, I would like to note the “frowned” pointed headlights with graceful focusing lenses and cilia of daytime running lights.

The radiator grille is also made in a rather aggressive style. It has a hexagonal shape and consists of many plastic cells, on top of which there is a massive overlay with the manufacturer’s logo. The front bumper sports a small air intake, and high recesses with small fog lights. The off-road character of the model is emphasized by the classic off-road body kit on the wheel arches, sills and bumpers. It is made of durable, unpainted plastic and is designed to protect the paintwork in the most vulnerable places.

The basic versions of the Toyota RAV4 are equipped with an atmospheric 2.5-liter inline petrol four. Thanks to the good volume and the proprietary variable valve timing system, the engineers managed to squeeze out 206 horsepower and 249 Nm of torque. It fits exclusively with an eight-band automatic machine. In basic versions, front-wheel drive, however, for an additional fee, the manufacturer offers a system with a clutch that connects the rear axle.

Top performance options are equipped with a hybrid powertrain. It is based on a similar, but somewhat deformed internal combustion engine. The transmission is a continuously variable electromechanical variator, and the rear-wheel-drive is realized using a separate electric motor. As a result, this modification develops 180 horsepower and 221 Nm of torque.

Hi. I have a 2004 Toyota RAV 4. I have been using it about 2 years now. I changed the transmission after every six months. I usually use 4 quarts of Total transmission fluid. What is the actual amount of transmission fluid I m to use during the transmission fluid change?
