Jeep Grand Cherokee Transmission Fluid Capacity

Grand traces its history since 1993; then, the first-generation SUV with the ZJ index was introduced. Today, the model is already produced in the fourth generation (WK2) and for a long time – since 2011, while in the 13th and 16th years, the car went through restyling.

The current Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 series has been delayed on the assembly line: it turns 11 this year! And this is not the end of a career: production will continue for about another year because the Jeep Grand Cherokee L of the new WL series presented today is not a direct replacement for the current Grand but an addition to the lineup.

The most (and so far the only visible) noticeable difference of the new generation is the other body proportions: the Grand Cherokee will receive a longer wheelbase and increased rear overhang, which will accommodate three rows of seats. Of the details, only the high-positioned horizontal lights are slightly visible through the camouflage, and they in many respects resemble those that are installed on the current model.

The L prefix to the name designates a longer model with a third row of seats. This is the first time a Grand Cherokee has such a version.

In the US market, more than 70% of sales of crossovers and SUVs of this class come from three-row cars. So jeep decided to take a bite of the pie and presented the fifth-generation Grand Cherokee in the “family” format. A short two-row modification in the WL family will also appear in about a year.

As expected, in the new generation, the Grand said goodbye to German roots, that is, to the platform of the Mercedes ML of the W164 series. Instead, the new model is based on the Giorgio trolley, on which the modern Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio models are built. But don’t rush to brand Jeep with shame.

The platform change brought expanded use of aluminum and high-strength steels, new electronics, and safety systems primarily. But the new Grand Cherokee inherited all the technology from its predecessor. Of course, with the necessary modifications.

At the start of sales, there will be five trim levels: Laredo, Limited, Overland, Summit, and the new top version of Summit Reserve, which features expensive leather upholstery, inserts made of real wood veneer, and second-row seat ventilation. At the same time, multi-contour front seats with ventilation and massage are already available in the Overland version.

Also, from the equipment, there are all-around cameras (front – with night vision function), a McIntosh audio system (19 speakers) and an Active Driving Assistant system, that is, adaptive cruise control with a lane hold function. By the end of the year, this assistant will also allow you to release the steering wheel while driving on the highway.
