The prototype model Dodge Caliber debuted in the spring of 2005 at the Geneva Motor Show. The car was put into serial production in 2006. The development of the car was carried out with a focus on the European market. The car should have taken a good place in the golf car segment.
Externally, the five-door hatchback Dodge Caliber 4.5 meters long with a ground clearance of 19.5 centimeters is very similar to a crossover. The car is based on the latest version of the Mitsubishi Lancer platform. This base is also used for American Dodge Neon.
One of two engines can be installed under the hood of the Dodge Caliber: a 1.8-liter engine with a capacity of 140 horsepower, or a 150-horsepower power unit with a working volume of 2 liters.
