The legendary Ford Mustang appeared in the American manufacturer's lineup in 1964 in two body styles: a convertible and a two-door sedan (coupe). Within two years, the company sold 1,000,000 copies of the car, and the manufacturer offered ample opportunities to customize the machine.

For example, only one Mustang interior could have been designed in one of 34 variants. A year after the start of production, various sports modifications of the Mustang began to appear. The car was overhauled in 1969. It gained in size and weight and also received new modifications.

The second-generation Mustang debuted in 1974. The car has become smaller but retains all types of bodies. 1978 the third generation car was presented at the Geneva Motor Show. After that, the model was constantly updated with new body options and engines. In 1993, the Mustang IV entered the market, styled after the first models.

For the 40th anniversary of the brand’s history, the company has released the Mustang GT-R model, equipped with a 440-horsepower aluminum V8 engine. A completely new generation of sports cars was presented at the 2005 Detroit Auto Show. The new Ford Mustang is built on a modified platform with a more aggressive body.

The first-generation Ford Mustang Convertible hit the market in 1964. In addition to the convertible, the model was presented in a coupe body. The car's design was similar to the design of the Continental Mark II luxury coupe, which was produced under the Lincoln brand in the mid-50s. A six-cylinder engine from Falcon was installed under the hood of the car with a volume of 2.8 liters.

In 1967, a new version of the car appeared, adding length and height. Another modernization was carried out in 1969, moving the car further away from the initial concept. A full second generation was born in 1974. The car's exterior went back to basics, and its design was developed by the Italian specialist Alessandro de Tomaso.

The third-generation Mustang convertible was produced between 1979 and 1993. The car was designed on the Fox platform, and its appearance and dimensions resembled those of the Scorpio and Sierra models. V6 engines powered the convertibles. In addition, a charged modification was released with a V8 engine, developing an output of 175 horsepower.

In 1984, for the car's 20th anniversary, the manufacturer released a limited edition GT350. In 1994, a new generation of Mustangs was released, which underwent a major redesign. In 2004, at the North American International Motor Show, the premiere of a completely redesigned car on the new D2C platform took place.
