Nissan Altima (Nissan Altima) – front or all-wheel drive class “D” sedan. The sixth generation of the model debuted at the New York Auto Show in the spring of 2018.

The exterior of the sixth generation has received a major update, coming close in appearance to the Vmotion 2.0 concept car, which was shown in January 2017 at the Detroit Auto Show. Compared to the previous generation, the new car has grown in all directions (except for height) and has taken on bold design lines throughout the body, making it more flamboyant and sporty. Thanks to the huge grille, strict LED headlights and aerodynamic front bumper, the “face” of the sedan looks very brutal. On the side, the updated model has sharper edges of the body surfaces and more “piled up” roof pillars. The rear has new stylish lights that, together with a diffuser on the bumper and a boot lid with a spoiler stamp, complete the dynamic image of the model.

The updated Nissan Altima is built on an upgraded platform from the last generation sedan. The independent suspension scheme remained unchanged – McPherson in front, multi-link in the back. The basic power unit is a 4-cylinder 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine from the previous generation, but it has been significantly improved and now produces 191 hp. and 244 Nm of torque. But the “top-end” 3.5-liter V6 for the model was replaced by a completely new 2-liter turbo engine with a variable compression ratio (like on the Infiniti QX50), with a capacity of 251 hp. and 370 Nm. Both engines work in tandem with an Xtronic CVT transmission.

Versions with a 2.5-liter aspirated can be both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, but the turbo sedan has only front-wheel drive.

The new Altima is well equipped with electronic functions that increase driving safety. The following systems are available: all-round visibility, lane and blind-spot tracking, automatic switching between low and high beams, and an automatic stop in case of an imminent collision.
