The subcompact car Hyundai Accent is also known as Verna and Excel. The first generation of the model debuted in 1995 as a replacement for the outdated Excel model. However, in the Netherlands and Australia, the name of the car has not changed. The car was produced in hatchback and sedan bodies and was equipped with two gasoline engines 16V with a volume of 1.3 and 1.5 liters. In 1997, all models underwent restyling, receiving a new front bumper with a developed air intake and new taillights.

In 1999, the Accent entered the market, having nothing to do with the previous machines. In 2000, the Korean manufacturer began producing the second generation of the car, the Hyundai Accent LC. The body of the new generation had more straight lines. In Korea, the car was offered under the name Verna. The 2003 facelift brought with it a new index – the LC2.

As the operating experience has shown, there are no serious remarks about the corrosion resistance of this car, although there is still one vulnerable spot (see photo “Weaknesses”). Over time, with rare use, the cylinder of the boot lid lock corrodes and wedges, therefore it is recommended to lubricate it preventively.

A similar disease is characteristic of the hood hinges. There are cars that do not have a ventilation hole in the front optics – as a result, the headlights sweat (more often on the left). Like most modern models, the Accent does not have side moldings, which is why the sides of the body are often bordered by sloppy parking neighbors.

The quality of the interior is very good. An important advantage is a large reserve of legroom for rear passengers and an almost flat gallery floor. Although three adults will be cramped here. Expensive versions will delight you with options unusual for compact models: a multifunction steering wheel, an Optitronic instrument panel, heated front wiper zones, a light sensor, LED running lights and lensed front optics.
