Best Spark Plugs for Acura MDX

This repair technique isn’t nearly as popular among Acura MDX or other models. Manufacturing clearances between the combustion chamber and cylinder walls are more stringent, making it less probable that plugs get oil-fouled.

Gas-fouled plugs are less frequent in modern fuel systems that are far more developed and efficient. With iridium spark plugs, which can endure years longer than previous designs, plug designs have evolved a long way.

It’s still possible to have a tune-up problem. It might be a faulty plug or an ignition coil that has broken down. However, it’s most frequently an emissions issue.

Acura is on a roll with its modest range of automobiles and SUVs. The three-row MDX, for example, has recently undergone a major makeover. This SUV borrows the compact RDX SUV’s sleek appearance and the TLX sedan’s premium appointments, while the cabin offers high-end materials and features that are deserving of Acura’s luxury brand.

This front-drive vehicle has a 290-hp 3.5-liter V-6 and a 10-speed automatic as its base engine, and all-wheel drive is standard. However, you may opt for the more powerful Type S variant, which comes with a turbocharged 355 horsepower 3.0 liter V-6 and standard all-wheel drive.

The 2022 Acura MDX is powered by the same 3.5-liter 290-hp V-6 as last year’s model, but it is now mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox rather than a nine-speed unit. Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is available as an option. The 2020 MDX had a hybrid powertrain, although Acura has not confirmed whether or how the 2022 MDX will get one.

Both the Type S and the more luxurious Advance models come standard with all-wheel drive. We haven’t driven the Type S yet, but our test drive of an all-wheel-drive Advance model with the regular powertrain revealed surprisingly nimble handling and quick acceleration.
